a canal society to promote the restoration of the Stockport Arm of the Ashton Canal.

Tuesday 11 th May 2004
The next meeting of the society is scheduled for the 11th May at 7:00 pm. The venue
will be advised latter. The meeting is later than originally planned because it was
felt by the committee that members would welcome the opportunity to hear and discuss
the commissioned report on the viability of regenerating the canal. Unfortunately
this important first report will not be finished until April 2004. Please check this
page for further details.
Update: The venue for this meeting is the Alma Lodge Hotel, Buxton Road , Stockport.
Tuesday 5 th October 2004
The next meeting of the society is scheduled for Tuesday 5th October 7:30pm to 10pm
in Committee Room No 1 Manchester Town Hall.
Coffee Tea and buscuits are provided.
The entrance to the Town hall is in the street between the old and the new (extension
) parts of the building. i.e. at the right hand side of the old building when facing
it in Albert Sq
There is an official just inside the door who will guide you to committee room 1
which is on the next level up.
Nearest tram stop is in St Peters Sq outide the round Library. The extension is next
to the Library.
Nearest free metro bus stops are at King St and John Dalton St about a 200m walk.
The metro bus joins the stations with the other points in the city centre.
Nearest car parks are GMex and Watson St (back of Gt Northern warehouse) You can
expect to pay more than £5. Gmex is about 300m and Watson St 4-500 m from the Town
Hall.

Bolton & Bury Canal restoration.
